These Two Babywearing Brands Saved my Fourth Trimester

Wrapping my baby onto my chest is one of my favorite experiences as a new mother. It’s a bonding experience I can best describe as the closest possible feeling we can share with baby since being pregnant. It’s the perfect way to practice skin-to-skin, and the sound of my heartbeat is familiar to her. When she’s fussy, wearing her calms her down and she feels safe, warm, and comfortable. As a mom of three, I’m always on the go, and when the baby is feeling clingy, it feels impossible to get anything done without my wraps and carriers. I wear her while washing dishes, doing my skincare routine, sorting laundry, typing on the computer, or just watching TV. I can honestly say that I would not have had as smooth of a postpartum period (the fourth trimester) without them! I have tried many babywearing brands in the past, but the ones that have been my favorite for baby #3 are Solly Baby and Wildbird Find discount codes for each brand below!

The Solly Baby wrap is my favorite for the first couple months when the baby is very tiny. The wraps are made from sustainably-sourced and biodegradable 100% certified TENCEL Modal, which is stretchy, so it contours to the baby’s shape and feels secure on my body as well. The material is also buttery soft and breathable, so it’s gentle on baby’s skin when doing skin-to-skin. It’s also lightweight, so it’s convenient for year-round babywearing! Watch the ‘Get Ready With Me’ video to the right to view the method of wrapping. This method gives an even weight distribution around the shoulders and waist which is also fully adjustable. I’ve found myself wearing the baby for long durations comfortably as a newborn. These wraps come in many different colors and patterns, and it’s been fun to style matching outfits with my Solly. Just look at that beautiful yellow and white checker print from Solly’s latest collaboration.

Wild Bird’s Aerial Carrier is great wearing the baby on the go. It has a seamless, aesthetically-pleasing design on the exterior with technical mesh lining the belt and straps to make it comfortable. I can carry my baby on the front for now (she’s 3.5 months old), but I’m excited to also start wearing her on my back when she’s a bit older. My Aerial carrier will grow with me, because even as she gets heavier, there are features of the carrier that’ll accommodate both of us. There is also padding on the back straps and waist belt with full lumbar support to better distribute weight. It comes in two sizes - the one I own features a folding hood to protect the baby from the sun and helps her sleep better by providing neck support. I keep my Wildbird in the car because it’s my favorite outdoor carrier. And look at how cute the toy slings are! My older girls love theirs and carry their toys around just like mommy carries their little sis.
